Sources and licenses of the map, elevation and geocoding services and software libraries used by our tools.
Where is your data processed?
- In tools that open files (Shapefile, GeoJSON, KML, DXF, DWG, LAS, photos and others), your files are processed in your browser and are not sent to our server.
- For operations that need maps, elevation or addresses, only the relevant coordinate or address text is sent to the services listed below, which are subject to their own terms.
- Google Analytics runs only with your cookie consent. See the Cookie Policy and privacy notice for details.
Map, elevation and address services
Esri basemaps
World Imagery, World Topographic and Street maps. Source: Esri and its data partners. Attribution is shown on the map.
OpenStreetMap
Map data © OpenStreetMap contributors, Open Database License (ODbL). Tile use follows the OSMF tile usage policy.
Nominatim
OpenStreetMap based geocoding and reverse geocoding; requests are throttled according to its usage policy.
AWS Terrain Tiles
Elevation values: Mapzen/Tilezen terrain tiles (SRTM, GMTED2010, ETOPO1 and other sources) via the AWS Open Data program. Resolution is roughly 10 to 30 m; values may deviate on narrow peaks and in built-up areas.
ArcGIS servers you enter and open archives
The ArcGIS REST Service Explorer and Web Map Inspector send requests directly to the ArcGIS server or portal you enter; requests do not pass through Rodosto servers and any token stays in browser memory only. The sample image in the GeoTIFF Viewer is read from the open Copernicus Sentinel-2 archive on AWS.
Overpass API
The OpenStreetMap Data Downloader sends the bounding box of your selected area and the chosen layers to public Overpass servers. Downloaded data is © OpenStreetMap contributors under ODbL; the attribution is written into the files.
Turkey province and district boundaries
A dataset built from OpenStreetMap (Geofabrik Turkey extract) and hosted on this site; © OpenStreetMap contributors, ODbL 1.0. The source date is shown on the tool page.
Esri World Imagery Wayback
Historical imagery is shown from the Esri Wayback archive under Esri terms of use; the images belong to Esri and its providers (Vantor, Earthstar Geographics and others).
Copernicus Sentinel-2 (Earth Search)
The NDVI Map searches scenes in the Element 84 Earth Search catalogue and reads only the window of your area from Sentinel-2 L2A files in the AWS open data archive. Contains modified Copernicus Sentinel data.
NOAA World Magnetic Model
Magnetic declination: WMM2025 by NOAA NCEI and NGA, public domain.
