What Is My Location & Elevation?

This tool uses your device's location service to instantly show your current coordinates and elevation (height above sea level). When you press "Find My Location", your browser asks for location permission; once granted, it lists latitude/longitude, DMS, UTM, MGRS and elevation.

What it gives you

  • Elevation: Your height above sea level in meters and feet.
  • My coordinates: Latitude/longitude (decimal degrees + DMS), copyable in one click.
  • UTM & MGRS: Your location as a UTM zone and an MGRS grid reference.

How to use

Press "Find My Location" and confirm the browser's location permission. On mobile devices, GPS gives a more accurate result. If you prefer not to share your location, click any point on the map to get that point's coordinates and elevation.

Click Find My Location; the tool shows your point's elevation above sea level in meters and feet. The value comes from open elevation datasets (SRTM/NASA) and is suitable for preliminary analysis.

It says location not found / permission denied — what should I do?

Your browser may have blocked location access. Open the lock icon in the address bar and set Location to "Allow", then retry. Alternatively, click anywhere on the map to get that point's coordinates and elevation.

Can I get my coordinates as UTM or MGRS?

Yes. Besides latitude/longitude (decimal degrees and DMS), the tool shows your location as a UTM zone and an MGRS grid reference; each value can be copied with one click.
